A country manor house and ancestral home of the Waldergrave Family dating back to 1602, during the 2nd World War the Hall was given to East & West Ham to evacuate the sick from London during The Blitz and to billet and hospitalised the RAF at the nearby Stapleford and Weald airdromes.  The old Howard Lodge was built in the grounds of Dudbrook Hall in 1955. St Michaels Homes purchased Dudbrook Hall in 1993 and tactfully converted the inside of the building to meet the care requirements of our residents.

Dudbrook Hall has character with no two rooms being the same, all we can say is you must come along and see it for yourself. Have a look around our charming home and take a wander around acres of mature gardens and beautiful countryside views.

Dudbrook Hall is registered with CQC (Care Quality Commission), and independent body, responsible for the registration and inspection/monitoring of all homes.  Having continuously achieved excellent reports and recently under a new rating system graded 2 = Good, with a high proportion of sectors receiving scores of 4, which denotes excellent.

With its slow pace of country living and manor house look you would nearly imagine you have stepped back in time, however conveniently located just 10mins drive between Ongar & Brentwood town centres and all their great amenities.

St Michaels Homes are very proud owners of Dudbrook Hall and it’s grand history, and we will continue to love & maintain this wonderful building for many more generations to come.

The Orangery is now complete.

Please pop in and see our brand new Orangery. The views are beautiful from the windows and is such a lovely place to sit and relax with family and friends.

Tea, Coffee and biscuits are available, please help yourself.

We have an Amazon Echo where you can listen to music, stories or even ask it a joke, weather or news. If you have any special music that you would like to be added to its library please see one of the carers and they will let the office know as we have a subscription to amazon Music.

Music events sound lovely as the acoustics are really good. Please see our list of events when the next entertainment is in.

Client Feedback

Would you please be good enough to offer my most sincere thanks to all staff for all the care and attention that was given to my husband John during his stay at Dudbrook. I am sure he was as happy as he could have been in his condition. I know he loved and respected all the staff. It was wonderful for me to see how much he had touched the hearts of the staff at Dudbrook. When my daughter and I were looking at homes to take him I thank my lucky stars we found Dudbrook.

I cannot mention by name everyone who was especially kind to him, so I hope you will give my most profound thanks to everyone.
