From familiar favourites to special celebrations and days out, life at Howard Lodge and Dudbrook House is shaped around the people who live here.
Activities and opportunities to connect
One warm, person-centred approach
Resident choice comes first
Our activity coordinators create a varied programme that reflects residents’ interests, abilities and favourite ways to spend time.
Some people enjoy joining a lively group; others prefer a quiet conversation, a creative activity or simply watching the fun. Taking part is always a choice, and everyone is welcome at their own pace.
Activities can be enjoyed independently or together, with support available so more people can feel included.
Arts and crafts, reminiscence and hands-on activities that invite expression and conversation.
Chair exercises, indoor bowling, cards, board games, quizzes and bingo – all adapted to suit the group.
Sing-alongs, social evenings and visiting entertainment that bring energy and enjoyment into the homes.
Pamper evenings, gentlemen’s evenings and relaxed social time for friendship, laughter and good company.
Planned trips offer the chance to enjoy favourite places and discover somewhere new. Previous outings have included the seaside, garden centres, local country pubs, the Ongar railway and other Essex attractions.
Every outing is considered carefully around residents’ comfort and support needs, so the day can be relaxed and enjoyable.
From personal milestones to much-loved seasonal traditions, special occasions add colour to life in both homes. Family and friends are warmly welcomed to join many of our events and enjoy the moment with us.
