From freshly cared-for rooms and laundry to personal belongings and practical support, we make everyday life comfortable and reassuring.
The experiences of our residents and their families mean everything to us.
Across Howard Lodge and Dudbrook House, families regularly share their experiences of the care, kindness and support their loved ones receive. Their words offer a genuine insight into everyday life in our homes and the people who make them feel like home.
Below family members have left information about their own experiences.
I can’t thank you, and the whole of the staff, for the loving care and support given to Graham & myself, by everybody we came in contact with. We could not have wished for a better place for Graham to spend the remainder of his time. He was safe & well looked after. The staff were all as you would want them to be, a big happy family. At times, Graham made everyone laugh, as he still had his quick wit and they all made us laugh too.
Many thanks for your kind words. I have already told Shammy and her team, and Lin, how much I have appreciated the wonderful care they all gave Jenny for well over 4 years. They should be very proud of the kindness, expert care and friendship they give every day in what we all know is a very demanding role I am very grateful to them.
I am writing on behalf of our dear mum, Pauline and our family. I had to let you all know how extremely grateful and blessed we have been over the last two years in how you loved and cared for our mum. Not only our mum but us as a family too.
When she first arrived, she was quite anxious and her emotional and mental deterioration were something we were all having come to terms with quite quickly. You and your staff’s kind, patient, calm and diligent care made the transition from living fairly independently to living in a very different environment the best it could ever possibly be.
Over the next two years our mums decline was met with such compassion, patience and understanding, not only for our mum but for us too. Every single person, carers, domestic support staff and other care home workers were always cheery, polite, kind and thoroughly engaging. We never felt that anything we asked for was too much and everyone always had time to help our mum and us. We all, always felt part of your family and you became part of ours. For that we truly feel grateful. No letter could be long enough to mention individuals and such a team effort deserves acknowledgement.
We would be most grateful if you could pass this on to all your carers and staff to express our most sincere and humble gratitude and appreciation.
I wanted to write to formally thank you for all the kindness and support shown to Dad and myself during the time he was with you.
All the staff in Sunflower were helpful to me, and Jo and Lauren did a wonderful job of reassuring me when things felt very bleak.
I wish to make a particular mention of Arti, who spent the Saturday with me when Dad died. Her care and professionalism was fantastic and helped me through what was an incredibly difficult day.
Thank you such lovely words of a very special sister and person.
Wendy and I will be visiting Dudbrook House next Sunday to collect Lorna’s bible and necklace. We will feel lost at not visiting Dudbrook which has been such a vital part of ours and Lorna’s precious last years of her incredible life. Your staff gave Lorna’s life new meaning and extended her life too into a lovely experience.
Thank you. A huge chunk of my life has now finished for ever but with so many many memories to cherish.
I still need to say again how grateful we all are in you making Lorna’s last nearly 4 years at Dudbrook so peaceful and supportive. You extended her special life for us all to enjoy and treasure
I hope you are aware of what you have achieved.
